Dayton PRIDE 2020 Has Been Rescheduled to August 22, 2020
So the look of Dayton Pride will be quite different this year.
We will enjoy a 2 hour “Live” broadcast for Dayton PRIDE in which we feature our many local dignitaries, local entertainers, live bands, along with a few other surprises. Pride sponsors will be offered the opportunity to prerecord a message that will be played at the top of the show and a second 15 sec message that may be played throughout the program.
8/22 Reverse Pride Parade.
What is a Reverse Pride Parade? All the groups that would typically take part in the parade, we ask them to set up a static display consisting of banners and posters. (no one will walk up to display – no shoppers) We will place each booth 10′ apart up and down the sidewalk on 2nd street in downtown Dayton. Spectators will be encouraged to decorate their vehicles in a prideful manner, historic cars encouraged, and simply drive down 2nd street beginning at Patterson to Main Street at 5 mph much like an old fashion “Cruise-In” to show their PRIDE. Once vehicles get to Main Street they may circle around and come down the strip again if they choose.
Set up of booths will be 9 am with the Cruse-In beginning from 10 to 11 am. If this is something you would like to participate in please email us at info@daytonLGBTcenter.org and let us know.
Dayton Pride is the Miami Valley’s longest running and largest LGBTQIA celebration. Each year it gets more vendors at the festival, more groups in the parade, more community sponsor support, and most importantly – more of our community coming out to show our colors and spread the love!! Thousands of gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, transgender, questioning, and queer folks from all over our region and beyond celebrate at Dayton Pride. Thousands more of our family members, friends, and allies come to celebrate and show support. Dayton Pride has become a powerful three-day event featuring Friday evening’s community entertainment extravaganza followed by the .5k Bar Crawl, Saturday’s parade before the festival on Courthouse Square, and the ‘Spikes & Heels’ kickball tourney on Sunday. Beyond that, the weekend is full of other activities such as the Dayton Gay Men’s Chorus Concert and Dayton PFLAG 5k Run/Walk.
It is easy for you to get involved – check out the page links above for information on how you can join us in the parade, get your act on stage, or secure a vendor booth for the festival. Better yet, click the Sponsorship tab to find out how your company can support Pride and the Greater Dayton LGBT Center with funding for the event. Each year we rely on generous sponsors to make our event a huge success for the entire Dayton community!!
